Chocolate Fudge Brownies

It’s hard to refuse a chocolate brownie when offered – that perfect mixture of chocolate fudge and nuts always hits the spot.

This recipe is quick (less than an hour from start to serve) very easy to make and works every time. You only need about 15 minutes prep and 25 minutes cooking time plus a bit of time for them to cool.

  • 185g dark chocolate
  • 125g butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  1. Preheat oven to 180° C
  2. Grease a 20cm square cake pan and line the base with baking paper.

  3. Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan over a very low heat.

  4. Stir in sugar.
  5. Stir in the eggs one at a time.
  6. With a wooden spoon beat the mixture until the sugar has dissolved.

  7. Stir in sifted flour.
  8. Stir in Walnuts.

  9. Pour into cake tin.

  10. Bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Allow to cool in pan then turn onto wire cooling rack.
  12. When completely cool sprinkle icing sugar over the top.
  13. Cut into squares to serve
