You may notice the new look to this blog. For a number of reasons I have switched from Drupal to WordPress. Don’t get me wrong, Drupal is a very powerful platform and I will still be using it for other projects, but it wasn’t right for what is essentially simply a blog site.
In making the platform switch I discovered that my old blog’s database had become corrupted. Whilst this didn’t affect the site on a day-to-day basis, it did mean that my backups were also corrupt and made it impossible to easily migrate my posts. Because of this I have lost quite a few months worth of content which is rather annoying, to put it mildly.
A self-proclaimed geek, I have been involved in the IT industry since 1984. I designed and coded my first web site in 1996 and have seen the evolution of online content from text only to rich media.
